Worcester Trembleuse Tea Cup Saucer, Hand Painted Floral, 1878

CONDITION: Light crazing in glaze. Measurements: Saucer 5 1/8" diameter 1 1/2" high Cup 2 1/2" high 2 1/2" diameter This trembleuse cup and saucer was produced in England by Royal Worcester in 1878. The date letter on the bottom indicates the year.

The saucer measures 5 3/16 inches in diameter and the cup is 2 1/2 inches high. Trembleuse refers to the deep well in the center of the cup where the cup fits in. This prevents the cup from falling off of the saucer. This one appears to be a coffee size cup.

Both pieces are beautifully hand painted with colorful bouquets and sprays of flowers. There is dentil gilding on the rims and accents on the handle. The saucer has light crazing which is barely visible. The cup is not crazed.

The set is otherwise in excellent condition. The Post Office requires this.
