This Very Elegant Vintage China Royal Bayreuth Tea Cup & Saucer Trio (set of 6) has been manufactured from Quality Bone China. The pattern is called Invitation, and features delicate gray edges on milk white background and gold painted garlands of flowers and branches.
There's also gilding on the rim and around the sides of cup, saucer and plate. Royal Bayreuth is a name used by the Royally Privileged Porcelain Factory Tettau, founded in 1794. It is still in business and is the oldest porcelain factory in Bavaria. Marked "Germany US Zone" and was made between 1945 and 1949. The United States was one of four countries occupying Germany after the end of World War II.
Pretty unique to find the complete set from that long ago. The set is in very good vintage condition with hardly any wear, there are no chips, cracks, hairlines visible to my eyes. The gilding has been done by hand and is in very good condition. The tea cup is 2" (5cm) high x 4" (10cm) diameter; the saucer 5 4/3 (14.5cm) across and the plate 6 (15cm) across.
