Set of 10 Royal Worcester B866 Cobalt & Gold Birds Chintz Flowers Soup Plates Circa 1887. Set of 10 earthenware rimmed soup plates / deep plates. Decorated in an aesthetic period pattern with cobalt blue and gold highlighted birds, trees, and flowers over a chintz floral background. With gold gilding along the edge.

Marked on the reverse with a blue underglaze Royal Worcester mark. All the plates have an X date code for 1886 except one. The 10th plate has a Y date code for 1887 and also has an importer's mark in puce for Ovington Brothers.

Also has the pattern number B866. These have some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. Each plate measures approximately 9 1/4 inches wide x 1 3/8 inches tall. These are antiques and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the pieces.
