This set of 4 tea cups and saucers comes from an old New England estate. They were used by the family during special occasions, and these cups and saucers appear to have had little use. One or more of the saucers bears a 1929 stamp. The other pieces are from 1926. See condition description for more information.
The cobalt blue detail was applied by hand, using a powder to stipple the band, after which it was fired. This was a painstaking method used to create this look and would eventually be replaced by the airbrush technique years later. This set does not have a pattern name, but the red number on the bottom was the pattern number.
Cups measure 4 in diameter and 2 inches high. Saucers are 5 3/4 in diameter. Rare to find these in such good condition.
All items come from a smoke and pet free environment.
