CONDITION: The pot has 2 spots on the lizard where the paint has flaked. There is a small chip on the corner of the sugar bowl.

There is also a small chip on a corner of the cream pitcher. All of these flaws are very minor. There has been no restoration and the set is in amazing condition for its age. This porcelain 3 piece tea set was produced in England by Royal Worcester in 1873. The date letters indicate this year.

The tea pot is 7 inches from spout to handle and 5 inches high. The sugar bowl is 6 inches wide and 5 ¾ inches high. The cream pitcher is 5 ¼ inches high at the handle and 4 ½ inches from the handle to the spout. The set was produced in the Aesthetic Period when design was heavily influenced by Japanese style. The elements of nature in the form of lizards, butterflies, bamboo branches, Japanese maple boughs and peonies are incorporated into these objects.

The square shapes echo the architecture. Notice the Foo dogs on the sides of the sugar bowl.
