CONDITION: Slight crazing, barely visible. This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Royal Worcester in 1883. The date letter indicates this year. It was produced especially for the renowned retailer Ovington Brothers.

The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches. The cup is 2 1/4 inches tall with a diameter of 2 1/4 inches. The ground color is iridescent light apricot. The set is decorated with raised gold flying cranes among the bamboo and water grasses. They are hand painted in metallic colors of silver, bronze and gold.

The design was inspired by Asian culture during the English Aesthetic Movement. The traditional ring handle and rims are trimmed with gold. The Post Office requires this.
